Artsy Fartsy

I have really been upset lately, over the fact that I never seem to have time to sit and do my crafty projects. Real "have to pay the bills" work has taken over my life. Even when I do have time to sit around and sew, or make jewellery, journals, and all the other project ideas that have been popping into my head, I am just too damn tired. I can't find the brain power to concentrate on anything more than online Scrabble or trash TV.

But, I realize now, that I need to take the time. Somehow, I just need to fit it into my day.

Festival season is coming, and I want to be prepared well in advance, and would love to have some of my new creations ready to sell. I have also been neglecting my Etsy shop, and should have taken new photos, and added what new items I do have long ago.

So that's that. Time to get my arse in gear.

But until then, check me out at the virtual craft sale over at http://cafehandmade.blogspot.com

Grace in Small Things #6

1. Even though I stayed up way too late for no reason, I feel rested today.

2. I think it helped that I got to hang out with Schmutzie and Pocket Buddha for a few minutes before I went to bed.

3. My brain is feeling creative, and I just might hit the craft store today.

4. I don't have to work today, or tomorrow. You "working-for-the-weekend" types may not understand why this is so wonderful, because you always get weekends off. I do not, and am grateful when I do.

5. Instructables is awesome, and just killed half of my morning.

6. There isn't much housework to do today. Phew!

7. I have lost another 4 pounds. So that totals 10 lost pounds in a month. Not that you can tell, but whatever.

8. Smyrish moved the cardboard out of the hallway.

9. It is not -50C today. At this moment, it is a summery -8C, and I am told it will warm up even more. Who wants to hit the beach?

10. My moccasins are my new best friend. Thank you, Knuckle Toes!

See You Soon!!!

Since I will be gone (and I just know you'll all miss me), and I most likely won't be updating until I get back (with many wonderful tales of The Great Canadian Train Excursion of '08) due to limited InterWeb access, and a hate I can't explain for most internet cafe's, I am leaving you with this run-on sentence, some links to posts by other bloggers, and sites I think you should check out, in my absence, 'cause they are A-OK.

Enjoy!!!!

Abigail's Archives Meme

The bloggiest of all bloggers, my pal Schmutzie, tagged thee in a meme. I was happy to be tagged, as I only have sad, pitiful things to write about today, and it is too darn nice outside to be depressing. Plus, doing this meme gave me a chance to go through my archives a bit, and find some happy posts that made me feel so much better.

The meme's rules:
1. Go through your archives and link to five of your favourite posts that you have written.
· Link one must be a post about family.
· Link two must be a post about friends.
· Link three must be a post about yourself.
· Link four must be a post about something you love.
· Link five can be a post about anything you choose.

2. Tag five other people to do this meme. Two of them must be people you already know so that you can get to know each other better.

Family: A Tribute to Big Bad Bob
Friends: Family Values
Myself: The Hot List, Continued.
Something I love: Camping Trip 2005
Wild card: The Recent Adventures of Abigail, Part One

I tag thee, and do what you want with it:

I Heart These Internets.

I spent a bit too much time on the Interweb today, but I did find a few interesting things. If you are like me, and have nothing to do tonight except whine about how sore your ears and head are and watch really, truly bad television for hours on end, take a break for a few minutes, and check out my blog crushes for the day.

Bob Lefsetz wrote a wonderful, heart-wrenching post about the death of Dan Fogelburg, and how his songs make him reminisce about his own life.

The Nervous Axon, got me thinking about my music collection, and what it means to me.

Miss.Nicola, has me thinking about getting my colon cleansed of the twenty pounds of compacted shit it is no doubt harbouring. If Jack Osbourne can do it, why can't I?

As well as perusing blogs, I also perused some Etsy shops, which in the end, just made me act like a big pissy pants, because I can't have my own shop too. The only one I'm going to plug here however, is my friend B-Rock, who has some amazing prints for sale over at brockphotography.
Come on, go buy some!

Well that's all folks, I'm leaving the 'puter for the night. The sex toys will be being delivered soon-ish, and hopefully, I'll be too busy to be playing around here.

Woo Hoo!

10 Things That Are Exciting to Me Right Now

1. As of right now, I have 2 days off from work!

2. The Canada Day camping trip plans are coming together nicely, and I can't friggin' wait to get out to the lake, and out of This City!

3. The Arts Festival went extremely well, and was a super duper funtastic day, and it gave me some motivation to get creating!

4. Mosaic is this weekend, plus, the JukeBox Hero is coming to visit!

5. Cable T.V rocks! Not only did I get home just in time to see Deadwood, I can set the timer on the guide so I don't miss Twitch City! Oh, Don McKellar, how I adore you!

6. For under $15, I bought 2 new books at Chapters tonight. Although I am already reading 3 books, I am going to start them tomorrow, as I drink overpriced coffee.

7. The Golden Dogs are playing at The Pub in July!

8. I purchased a really cute 2 piece bathing suit, that not only makes my boobs look boobtastic, but I am refusing to wear it to swim with the special people at work. It is just for me! (Believe me, this is the first time in years that I have been able to afford to buy 2 bathing suits, one for work, and one for play!)

9. My new digital camera makes me happy. I am learning that sometimes, it's okay to live in the 21st century.

10. My shitty mood of the past few days seems to be subsiding. Maybe it was just hormonal. Or maybe things are starting to look up.
