Dude...that's Excellent!

"Be excellent to each other." - Bill

Thank you, Paige Stanton, for honoring me and my blog with the Award of Excellence. I am feeling pretty excellent today, what with the sun shining and my 18 hour shift at work being over, and this just made it even more excellent.

It is only 9:00am, and I am positive this spring day will only get better, and I hope the same for the rest of you. So, before I go off to eat my turkey bacon, and my green pepper, mushroom and feta omelette, I would like to take my turn to award a few blogs that I deem "excellent" as well.

The Palinode
Smyrish
Mrs. Mogul
The Nervous Axon
Oh My Seven
Dr. Pepper is Good for the Soul

Have a lovely day!

Bodacious

The uber-fabulous Madame Diva awarded me with the "Bodacious Blog" award. I must say, I am truly humbled.

Bodacious is defined as, according to dictionary.com:

1. thorough; blatant; unmistakable: a bodacious gossip.
2. remarkable; outstanding: a bodacious story.
3. audacious; bold or brazen.

Here's what she had to say about me, and why I deserved this wonderful award:

"When I think of Brazen, I think of this lady...who not only goes braless in the summer, but bottomless too!!"

Isn't that sweet?

I am so Nice...N-I-C-E!

I'm starting to get a big ego over here. First, I was awarded with the Power of Schmooze, and now, I have been honored for my niceness.

Madame Diva may not know it, but throughout life, I have been told numerous times how frickin' bitchy I am. I can be a bitch, and I know it. But I like to think of myself as a stand-up good person, and it is a very warm and fuzzy feeling to hear that someone thinks the same. This is what The Diva had to say about me:

"....because she makes me feel loved and wanted and i like to feel loved and wanted. Also, she is very talented sewer lady... uhm.. no, not SEWER lady... SEW-er lady...as in sewing machines."

It's true. I'll toot my own horn here and confirm the fact that I want everyone I know, to know how special they are, and how much I love and adore them. I try and tell them that every single day.

What else makes me nice? Well, I don't know really. I don't push old ladies, or put kittens in the dryer, or steal candy from babies. Even though I threaten to sometimes, I don't run over pedestrians with my car, or rear-end the elderly for driving too slow. I love hugs and kisses and high-fives. Yup, I'm good people.

You know who else is good people? These guys. Well, these girls. I nominate them for the "Nice Matters" Award of '07.

Knuckle Toes - She puts up with me. She makes me feel like I am talented, and tells me so. Because she's my sista, and my friend and my business partner in crime. She's just a doll.

PocketBuddha- You don't really know her yet in the blogosphere, but believe me, she's a nice lady. She brought me fruit and trail mix and good conversation throughout Folk Fest last weekend, and that alone proves how darn nice she is.

That Girl Who Blogs Stuff- I just want to hug her to death every time I see her. She's got a beautiful smile, and knows how to use her ears. She hardly even knows me yet, but I get the feeling that she actually cares about me. And I care about her.

Congratulations to the winners! Go ahead and brag about your award all around town, but don't lord it over everyone, because that's not so nice.

I'm Schmooze-tastic!

I am extremely honored to have received my first blogging award for "Having the Power of Schmooze". I received the award from the super fantastic Madame Diva, who upon presenting me with the award, said the gosh-darn nicest things about me, and she hasn't even had the chance to drink pints with me yet. Just wait til she sees me schmooze up close and personal!

I am very proud of my ability to schmooze, as this talent has helped me win friends, jobs, and interesting conversations with strangers, so I have decided to award bloggers who are just as friendly, and have proven to me, their schmoozing ability.

The award was created over at Ordinary Folk, which you should go and check out asap, if only to see "Gummy the Lovesick Alien".

The participation rules are simple:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs of people that you think are great schmoozers, conversationalists, or commenter's

2. Link to original post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme and receive their award,

3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Schmoozer Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote.

And the winners are........

The Palinode. I have been lucky enough to be able to schmooze with this cool cat up close and personal for many years, but when I cannot be in his presence, I stalk him on his blog to see how his adventures with Proust are going, and to guffaw with laughter over the dialogues he has with his wife. Never a dull moment, over at Palinode's Palace.

Dawnzer-Lee Light. I stumbled upon Dawn while snooping around my Vox neighbor's links, late one night, and I have been hooked ever since. She's smart and sassy, and always makes me think. And from what I can tell, she enjoys a drink now and again, just like me, so we'd probably have a good time together if our paths ever crossed!

Jenifer, from Nutcase 101
I can't remember who found who, but it was love at first read for me. This girl reminds me so much of myself, but in reading her entries, makes me think she has her shit together a wee bit more than I do, like most people. I'm rooting for ya Jen!

The Girl Who...... Maybe it's just her beautifully written stories about her and Serge, or maybe it's her keen sense of humour, or maybe it's because her life just seems to be so damn interesting, but I can't stop reading. This girl appears to totally kick ass.

What's That Smell? I think it's her beautiful pictures of Saskatchewan summers as of late that have really caught my attention, but I have been perusing this ladies blog for awhile now, and it never lets me down. Plus, she likes camping. All campers are A+ in my books.

And that's that. Congratulations to the winners, but please, don't let this distinction go to your head.

Have a good day everyone!
